Adding a TMG Rating to a LAPL(S) Glider Pilot’s Licence
Did you know that if you’re a qualified Glider Pilot holding a LAPL(S) Glider Pilots licence you could be qualified to fly a powered aircraft in as little as 6 hours of flight instruction?
This has to be one of the best ways to be able to fly a powered touring motor glider.
The requirements to obtain this rating are as follows:
6 hours flight instruction on a TMG, 4 hours to be of dual flight instruction
1 solo cross-country flight of at least 80 NM, during which 1 full stop landing at an aerodrome different from the aerodrome of departure shall be performed
Skill test to demonstrate an adequate understanding of navigating, dealing with emergencies and general handling of the aircraft
